You might be wondering, "What exactly is an Study?"

In between my larger projects, I enjoy honing my skills by creating paintings that can be completed in day (usually). Instead of using canvas or linen, I use high-quality watercolor paper or birch panels to create smaller paintings that allow me to experiment in a way that isn't too time consuming.

Due to the nature of these paintings, they tend to have a looser and more expressive style. Some of them maybe a preparation for a larger painting (see Marianne).

Furthermore, these paintings are often sold at a more affordable price point.
